Have you ever wondered if you’re worthy of love and if you even matter? I have. Can you relate to such thoughts as “I don’t deserve any better,” “I am failure,” and the like? I can. In the moment of brokenness, I asked: “What Does God Say About Me?” Below are the 52 answers I found in the Bible.

These 52 life-changing breakthroughs completely transformed my identity and lifestyle. if you want to understand my story, suffering, and struggles, read “Getting To Know Anna Szabo.” In today’s fast-paced world of digital bullying, political confusion, and certain uncertainty, we are forced into the comparison trap.

We buy daily into the social-media-endorsed happiness illusion.

The fakeness of reality and the lack of substance in relationships cause us to constantly doubt ourselves, our world, and our identity. The word of God is the antidote to all doubt. We must know, understand, and embrace the answers to the question “What Does The Bible Say About Who I Am?

Introduction: What Does God Think of Me?

In 2014, I had an encounter with Jesus and became a Christian. That year, I was baptized in front of 3,000 people at a church service and was fully immersed in water. I also got to share my story and testimony on video, and it was the first time I ever mentioned how I realized that I was a child of God, the daughter of the king of the universe, a Princess.

Before then, I struggled with identity but wasn’t aware of it.

I had multiple addictions to help me cope with my suffering, and my life was dedicated to high performance and accomplishments. I did accomplish many great things in life but in 2014, I hit the rock bottom.

There, on the bottom, I met Jesus.

My journey of faith had begun.

All I knew about me was that I was a child of God. The applicability of it was that sin was no longer my master, and I was set free from slavery to my addictions. My journey of healing and lifestyle transformation had begun.

Here’s my baptism video for you to enjoy.

What Does God Say About Me? The Story.

I took 600 days off of dating and spent time with God, allowing Him to work in me and through me. I documented my journey and shared some breakthroughs on my YouTube channel. I spent 365 days of holidays alone, learning who I was, what I liked, and what my boundaries were.

It was just the beginning of my faith journey.

In November 2015, I was pursued by a Christian man. He began courting me for marriage. We went to pre-engagement counseling, which we did in a group setting of 10 couples at Perimeter Church and 1:1 with our assigned mentor-couple. They were also a blessing from Perimeter Church.

He proposed to me in 2016, and we got married.

After the wedding, I moved into our marital residence, which we both invested time and money to remodel. Once we started living as a married couple, he abandoned me, committed 60 hours a week to IronMan training, attended three IronMan competitions around the world in our first three months of marriage, and then, he filed for divorce saying he didn’t want to be married anymore but wanted to be an IronMan instead.

During that marriage, I began asking very seriously and intentionally: What Does The Bible Say About Who I Am?

In that devastating marriage, I experienced such severe narcissistic relationship abuse that I had to see two counselors: a trauma counselor, who worked with victims of narcissistic abuse and taught me a lot about my situation, and a Biblical counselor, who helped me focus on God’s promises to me and my identity in Christ.

Eventually, through narcissistic gaslighting, projection, and other eloquent narcissistic mental cruelty tactics, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde manipulated me into total despair, dullness, darkness, and depression. I became suicidal.

RELATED: Narcissistic Relationship Abuse

During that time, I struggled with everything: discernment, decision-making, self-esteem, confidence at work, and I began experiencing paralysis by analysis. Soon, I realized that I was too focused on the narcissist and what he said about me: that I was not his wife and his bicycle was actually his wife, that he was not interested in me and was more excited about IronMan, etc.

I started wondering: What Does God Say About Me?

Yes, I knew I was a child of God. But what else?

What does God say about my ability to discern, make decisions, be confident, persevere, heal, be joyful again, or at least hold on to life, which at that point I despised?

I wanted the answers to the question What Does The Bible Say About Who I Am?

The answers had to be clear, practical, and applicable to my situation of suicidal depression, divorce, abuse, and trouble at work.

RELATED: Who Am I In Christ?

My situation got even more complicated: the narcissist dismissed that first divorce, asked to reconcile, then, five weeks later he filed for his second divorce in our first few months of marriage. The entire time, I stayed in our marital residence, home every day after work, waiting for him to choose our marriage, and all that while commuting 100 miles a day to work daily.

What Does The Bible Say About Who I Am?

What should I do? What does God want me to do?

I literally wanted to die, yet I had to continue living.

The Bible became my go-to place for all the answers. Many nights, I cried myself to sleep on my knees praying. And that was exactly how I discovered the 52 answers to the question What Does God Say About Me?

Then, God asked me to share it with you.

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

Colossians 2:6-7

Who Does God Say I Am? The 52 Answers.

Let me take you back to the day of my baptism, October 19th, 2014. I am a Princess, a daughter of the King, loved and accepted, sanctified and redeemed. That was the statement I made during my baptism in front of a few thousand people at Buckhead Church here in Atlanta.

Several people came to talk to me about it…

I know, I know, you don’t typically see and hear a grownup woman calling herself a Princess. I can’t help it, because it’s true. I am who God says I am!

The next time I said it at church, women laughed.

I asked: “Do you believe that God is the Sovereign King He says He is?”

And the ladies nodded: “Yes.”

I asked: “Do you believe that God created you and He is your Heavenly father?”

The women said: “Yes.”

Ok, then, Princess!!!

They agreed…

I shared with you that after that, I experienced abused in my marriage and wanted to refocus my mind from what the narcissist said about me to what God said about me.

So, in 2016, I began wondering: What Does The Bible Say About Who I Am?

I needed a long and comprehensive, complete and practical list of God’s truth about who I am, my identity, my ability, my past, present, and my future in the context of God’s word.

There are 52 discoveries I made in regards to this question.

Keep in mind that I searched the answer to the question Who Does God Say I Am? while struggling with severe depression and suicidal thoughts during my divorce with the husband who abandoned me after four months of marriage. So, there was a lot of drama, which gave a lot of real-life context to my research. I wanted Biblical answers to my worldly problems.

And I found them.

I am sharing these 52 discoveries with you to help you in your daily life. You see, everyone’s life sometimes rocks and sometimes sucks. That’s why we need Jesus daily. That’s why we can’t lean on our own understanding and must trust in the Lord.

If you’re suffering, my 52 discoveries will help you.

I know what it feels like to think you don’t matter, that no one cares, and that you are unloved, unwanted, and undeserving. I couldn’t stand my self-destructive thoughts about my life anymore, so I searched the Bible to answer that one burning question I had: “What Does The Bible Say About Who I Am?

This topic was the first episode I ever shared on my Christian podcast for women The Anna Szabo Show. It was also the first blog I ever published here on Online Discipleship For Women‘s blog, which I started one month after my divorce with the narcissist.

These 52 Biblical Affirmations are the foundation of my ministry.

Below is a list of 52 amazing, freeing, liberating “I am” statements I want you to memorize. From the scriptures I discovered, I created 52 Biblical I Am Affirmations to remember what God says about me.

I personally used these affirmations when anxiety, panic, self-doubt, and paralysis by analysis attacked me.

You are invited to memorize them, too, so that they can help you battle your doubt, anxiety, depression, hopelessness, or suicidal ideation.

I divided my 52 Biblical affirmations into four groups.

Four Groups of Biblical Affirmations

  1. The “Fundamentals of God’s Grace” group is about the foundational truth about Jesus, Cross, and Salvation.
  2. The “New Identity in Jesus” group is about being a child of God and a new creation, beautifully made in the image of God.
  3. The “Christ-Like Character Qualities” group is about having the discernment from the Holy Spirit, being confident and wise.
  4. The “Biblical Outlook on Life” group is about our hope for the future.

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.

Do what it says.

James 1:22

What this scripture means to me and you is this.

We must first seek to understand what God says about us, our identity in Christ, and our abilities, and we must then remember His word, practice God’s view of us, and abide in it every single day.

Our identity in Christ, exactly what God says about who we are, is our helmet of salvation when it comes to The Armor of God, our daily protection.

The Seven Components of The Armor of God

  1. The belt of truth
  2. The breastplate of righteousness
  3. The shoes of peace
  4. The shield of faith
  5. The helmet of salvation
  6. The sword of the Spirit
  7. The prayer on all occasions

We must wear God’s truth about our identity as a helmet every single moment of our lives, otherwise, we can become vulnerable to the attacks on our identity by cruel people with evil intentions.
